ChatGPT can use Caliu through a custom connection you add once on the web. Adding custom connections needs a paid ChatGPT plan, and on work plans your workspace admin may need to allow them first.
Add Caliu to ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com in your browser and open Plugins (some accounts call it Apps, under Settings).
- Choose + and then Add custom MCP server. If you don't see it, look for Developer mode under the advanced settings and turn it on first.
- Name it Caliu and paste this link:
https://api.caliuapp.com/mcp - Choose OAuth as the sign in method, accept ChatGPT's warning about custom connections, and save.
- A Caliu page opens. Sign in if asked, check the permissions, and click Allow.
ChatGPT moves these settings around from time to time, so the names on your screen may differ a little. Look for the option to add a custom connection by link.
Use it in a chat
Start a new chat, choose Caliu from the + menu in the message box, and ask away, for example "Save this recipe as a note tagged #cooking."
ChatGPT asks before it changes anything in your notes. Read what it wants to do, then confirm.
If something goes wrong
- It says the note limit was reached. New accounts on the free plan hold up to 50 notes. Move notes to the trash to make room, or get Caliu Pro for unlimited notes.
- You can't find the option to add a custom connection. It's only on the web version of ChatGPT and on paid plans. On a work account, ask your workspace admin.
- ChatGPT stops working with Caliu. Remove Caliu from ChatGPT and add it again with the steps above.
