Duplicate is for when you want a fresh copy of a note to branch off from, a template you reuse, or a version you can safely rewrite without touching the original.
How to duplicate
Open a note's actions menu (the ... menu) and choose Duplicate. Caliu creates a new note and opens it immediately, so you can start editing the copy right away.
What you get
- Same title and content, so the copy carries the same tags too: tags live in the text, not in a separate field.
- A fresh note, with its own id, not linked to the original in any way.
- Not pinned and not read-only, even if the original was: the copy starts plain.
- No reminders, even if the original had them. Reminders are tied to a specific note, so copying them verbatim would point the alarm at the wrong note.
Where it is available
Duplicate lives in the note actions menu on the web app (from the note list row or the editor) and on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It is hidden for encrypted notes, since Caliu cannot read their content to copy it.
