Caliu ships with 22 color themes. Each one has a light and a dark look, and each look has its own name: Caliu turns into Bosc at night, Cel into Capvespre, Magrana into Verema, and so on.
Light, dark, or system
Independently of the theme, you choose the appearance mode: light, dark, or system, which follows your device's appearance automatically. Pick system and Caliu switches between your theme's day and night looks on its own.
A different theme for day and night
By default, one theme choice applies to both light and dark mode. If you would rather pair a warm parchment theme by day with something moodier at night, turn on the split toggle in the theme picker and pick a theme for each mode independently. Turn it back off and Caliu returns to a single pick for both.
Change your theme
- In the web app: open the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Theme. A panel opens beside your notes so you can preview each theme live. The light, dark, and system toggle, and the day/night split, are inside the same panel.
- In the iPhone and iPad app: go to Settings, then Theme.
- In the Mac app: open Settings, then Theme.
Themes control colors only. Fonts are a separate setting, so your favorite typeface stays put when you switch palettes. See the typography article for that.
