The iPhone and iPad app and the Mac app come with widgets, and your notes show up in Spotlight search.
Widgets
Four widgets are available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac:
- Notes: your recent or pinned notes (you choose which). Tap a title to jump straight to that note.
- Note: keep one note in view. Touch and hold the widget to choose it.
- Quick Actions: jump straight into a new note, a new voice note, or search.
- Stats: today's counts, notes updated today and notes with to-dos.
On iPhone and iPad, Quick Actions and Stats also come in Lock Screen sizes, so a new note is one tap from the Lock Screen.
On Apple Watch you get three complications for your watch faces: New Note, Voice Note, and Notes. Each is one tap, straight into the action, without opening the app first.
Quick capture from Control Center
On iPhone and iPad you can add the New Caliu Note control to Control Center (and the Lock Screen). One tap opens Caliu on a fresh note.
Spotlight
Your notes are indexed in Spotlight on both iOS and macOS: titles, note text, and tags are all searchable. Tap a result and Caliu opens right on that note. Notes in the trash are never indexed, and the index updates as you write.
Shortcuts and Siri
Caliu adds five actions to the Shortcuts app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, so you can build your own automations or just ask Siri:
- Create Note: starts a new note with the text you give it.
- Append to Note: adds text to the end of an existing note.
- Search Notes: finds notes matching a search term.
- Get Note Content: returns a note's full text, handy as an input to later steps in a shortcut.
- Open Note: jumps straight to a specific note in Caliu.
Say "Create a note in Caliu" or "New Caliu note" to Siri, or add any of the five actions to a shortcut you build in the Shortcuts app. They work even when Caliu isn't open, as long as you are signed in.
